Avatar & Wearable Submission Guidelines
This document outlines the requirements and best practices for submitting avatars and wearables to OpenPage (:OP:). These guidelines are intended to help creators self-validate their submissions before publishing, reduce compatibility issues, and protect the broader OP ecosystem as it scales.Overview
OpenPage is designed to be an open, creator-first platform. To maintain a safe, legally compliant, and technically compatible environment, certain technical and content constraints must be respected. Following these guidelines helps:- Reduce submission issues and delays
- Avoid post-publication restrictions or removals
- Maintain long-term compatibility across supported environments
Common Submission Issues
Avatar Height Requirements
Supported height range: 1 meter – 2 meters (Z-axis) Avatars must be at least 1 meter tall and no taller than 2 meters. Avatars outside this range may:- Not load reliably in OP viewers
- Create compatibility or performance issues
- Trigger restrictions or removal after submission
- Measure avatar height prior to submission
- Confirm the Z-axis dimension is between 1m and 2m
- Use Sideload resizing tools if adjustments are needed
- Re-export and validate dimensions before publishing
⚠️ Submissions outside the supported height range may be restricted or removed at any time to preserve platform compatibility.
Intellectual Property (IP) & Originality
All submissions must use original names, thumbnails, and branding. Not allowed:- Using protected or unauthorized IP in names or branding
- Reusing third-party NFTs, characters, or artwork as thumbnails
- Implying official affiliation, partnership, or endorsement without authorization
- Original characters inspired by general aesthetics
- Parody or stylized inspiration that does not copy protected identity markers
- Fully custom thumbnails and titles
MML Hosting & Valid URLs
Submissions must include a valid, properly hosted MML URL(not a direct GLB file link). Common issues:
- Temporary editor-hosted MML links
- Links that expire or change ownership
- Incorrect file type submitted
- Confirm URL resolves to an
.mmlfile - Ensure hosting is stable and long-term
- Test links in a logged-out or private browser session
OP is actively exploring creator-friendly hosting options. More guidance will be shared as solutions mature.
Platform Content Standards
To maintain a healthy ecosystem, certain types of content are not allowed on OpenPage.Prohibited Content Includes
- Content that infringes intellectual property rights
- Stolen or unauthorized digital assets
- Misleading or impersonation-based content
- Content that violates applicable laws or regulations
- Harmful or abusive content, including hate speech or exploitation
- Spam, malicious links, or deceptive distribution tactics
Potential Platform Actions
If content is found to violate guidelines or platform policies, OpenPage may take actions including:- Reducing visibility or feature availability
- Disabling monetization or transfer-related functionality
- Removing platform-level discovery or promotion
- Fully removing or disabling content access
Misleading or Impersonation-Based Content
Content designed to mislead users is not allowed, including:- Impersonating brands, creators, or public figures
- Fake verification indicators or trust signals
- Content designed to trick users into interacting with malicious links
- Collections or avatars presented as official when they are not
Reporting & Rights Protection
OpenPage respects applicable intellectual property and copyright laws. If you believe content violates your rights, reports should include:- Proof of ownership or authorization
- Clear identification of the content in question
- Contact information for follow-up
Submission Checklist (TL;DR)

Creator Responsibility & Platform Integrity
OpenPage aims to remain open and permissionless and does not act as a proactive gatekeeper for all submissions. Creators are responsible for ensuring their content:- Meets these guidelines
- Does not introduce legal, technical, or ecosystem-wide risk
- Remains compliant with applicable laws and platform policies
- Restricted
- Disabled
- Removed
if it is later found to violate policies or introduce risk.
